Air Fryer Frozen Foods Guide
The freezer aisle is the air fryer's home turf. Every major frozen food below, with exact temps, times, and the one trick each one needs. No thawing, ever.

The chart
| Food | Temp | Time | The trick |
|---|---|---|---|
| French fries | 400°F | 15–20 min | Shake hard at halfway; light oil mist for crunch |
| Chicken nuggets | 400°F | 10–12 min | Single layer only — stacking steams them |
| Mozzarella sticks | 390°F | 6–8 min | Cook from frozen rock-hard; thawed ones burst |
| Fish sticks/fillets | 400°F | 10–14 min | Flip once; pull when crust audibly crackles |
| Potstickers/dumplings | 380°F | 8–10 min | Light oil spray prevents sticking; sauce after |
| Taquitos/flautas | 380°F | 8–10 min | Don't overcrowd — they need air on all sides |
| Onion rings | 375°F | 8–10 min | Lower temp saves the coating from scorching |
| Pizza rolls | 380°F | 6–8 min | Rest 2 minutes — the filling is lava, legally |
| Tater tots | 400°F | 15–18 min | Shake twice; tots forgive almost everything |
| Frozen shrimp (breaded) | 400°F | 8–10 min | Pat dry first if icy; flip halfway |
Three rules for all frozen food
- Never thaw first. Frozen surfaces crisp; thawed surfaces steam. The air fryer wants it icy.
- Single layer, always. Overlapping pieces trap steam. Two small batches beat one crowded one.
- Shake or flip halfway. Every time, no exceptions. Set a timer — "eyeballing it" is how nuggets burn on one side.
